Launching a taxi app requires licensing, operations, payments and app-store decisions as well as software configuration. A VAMOS account can be configured in minutes, while publication and rollout depend on the market.
This guide walks through the exact steps, licensing, branding, tech, driver onboarding, and go-live, that VAMOS operators complete before their first ride.
Step 1: Local licensing
Confirm the operating licence you need in your city or region. This is different for hackney carriage, private hire, chauffeur, NEMT, and delivery services. VAMOS is licensing-agnostic; you own the licence and we power the tech.
In most jurisdictions you also need insurance for hire and reward, a DVLA/DMV check for each driver, and a business bank account able to receive Stripe payouts.
Step 2: Branding assets
Logo (SVG or PNG), primary colour, secondary colour, app icon (1024x1024), splash screen, and marketing copy. VAMOS builds your rider app, driver app, and web booking portal on these assets and publishes to iOS and Android under your developer accounts.
If you do not have Apple Developer and Google Play Console accounts, apply now. Apple takes up to 48 hours to approve a new developer identity.
Step 3: Choose your plan
Lite is designed for up to 10 active taxis. Plus supports growing fleets, while Pro is designed for established and larger operations. All plans have a $0 software setup fee. White labelling is Pro-only.
Step 4: Driver onboarding
Import a driver CSV or send drivers an invite link. Each driver completes the in-app verification (ID, licence, insurance, vehicle photos) and is approved by your operator dashboard.
The best-performing new fleets complete driver onboarding while their apps are pending store review, so launch day starts with a full active roster.
Step 5: Marketing launch
Plan launch communications for riders, drivers, hospitality partners and local accounts. Test QR codes, printed driver cards and local campaigns, then measure each channel.
Confirm onboarding, training and post-launch support in your selected plan and written proposal before setting the rollout date.
