    1. About This Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Vamos Technologies Ltd ("VAMOS", "we", "us", or "our"), a company registered in England and Wales, collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data when you use our platform, applications, and services.

By accessing or using VAMOS services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our services.

This policy applies to all users of the VAMOS platform, including passengers, drivers, fleet operators, hotel partners, and website visitors.

    2. Information We Collect

Personal Identification Data: When you create an account or contact us, we collect information such as your full name, email address, telephone number, postal address, date of birth, and payment or billing details.

Usage and Technical Data: We automatically collect device information (model, operating system, unique device identifiers), IP address, browser type and version, pages visited, session duration, referral source, and interaction patterns to maintain and improve our services.

Location Data: With your consent, we collect precise geolocation data from your device to facilitate ride dispatch, route optimisation, and service availability. You may disable location services through your device settings, though this may limit certain features.

Business Data: For fleet operators and drivers, we collect business-related information including company registration details, fleet composition, operational metrics, driver licence information, vehicle registration data, and financial transaction records necessary for platform operation.

Communications: We may record or retain correspondence between you and VAMOS, including support requests, feedback, and in-app messages, to improve service quality and resolve disputes.

    3. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the following legal bases under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018:

Contractual Necessity: Processing necessary for the performance of our contract with you, including account management, ride facilitation, payment processing, and service delivery.

Legitimate Interests: Processing necessary for our legitimate business interests, including fraud prevention, platform security, service improvement, and direct marketing to existing customers, provided these interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms.

Legal Obligation: Processing necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal proceedings, including tax reporting, regulatory compliance, and law enforcement requests.

Consent: Where required by law, we obtain your explicit consent before processing certain categories of data, such as precise location tracking and marketing communications. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal.

    4. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide, operate, maintain, and improve the VAMOS platform, including processing ride requests, facilitating payments, delivering customer support, and ensuring platform safety and integrity.

Your data enables us to personalise your experience, communicate service updates, send relevant notifications, and develop new features and functionality based on aggregated usage patterns.

We analyse anonymised and aggregated data to understand market trends, optimise dispatch algorithms, improve route efficiency, enhance platform reliability, and generate business intelligence reports for fleet operators.

We use your information for fraud detection and prevention, identity verification, regulatory compliance, and to enforce our Terms of Service.

    5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

Service Providers: We share data with carefully selected third-party service providers who assist in operating our platform (including cloud hosting, payment processing, analytics, and customer support), subject to strict data processing agreements and confidentiality obligations.

Business Partners: Fleet operators receive operational data relevant to managing their business within the platform. Rider and driver personal data is shared only to the extent necessary to facilitate rides and ensure safety.

Legal Requirements: We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.

Corporate Transactions: In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganisation, or sale of assets, your personal data may be transferred to the successor entity, subject to the same privacy protections described in this policy.

    6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256), role-based access controls, regular security assessments, and continuous monitoring.

Payment information is processed through PCI DSS-compliant payment processors. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.

We maintain comprehensive incident response procedures and will notify affected users and the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) within 72 hours in the event of a personal data breach, as required by applicable law.

While we take all reasonable precautions, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

    7. Your Rights Under Data Protection Law

Under the UK GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Right of Access: You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you (Subject Access Request).

Right to Rectification: You may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.

Right to Erasure: You may request deletion of your personal data where there is no compelling reason for its continued processing, subject to legal retention requirements.

Right to Restriction: You may request that we restrict the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.

Right to Data Portability: You have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.

Right to Object: You may object to processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing at any time.

Automated Decision-Making: You have the right not to be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@vamosx.co. We will respond to your request within one calendar month. There is no fee for making a request, though we may charge a reasonable fee for repetitive, manifestly unfounded, or excessive requests.

    8. SMS, Text Messaging, and Mobile Number Disclosure

By providing your mobile phone number to VAMOS, you consent to receive service-related SMS text messages from us and from independent Service Providers fulfilling your ride, including ride confirmations, driver arrival alerts, receipts, safety notifications, security codes, and account or account-recovery messages.

Message frequency varies based on your activity on the Service (for example, one message per booking plus occasional safety or account alerts). Message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier. VAMOS does not charge you for messages, but your carrier may.

You may opt out of non-transactional messages at any time by replying STOP to any SMS, or by adjusting notification preferences within the app. Reply HELP for help, or contact support@vamosx.co.

Non-Sharing of Mobile Numbers. Your mobile number and SMS opt-in consent will never be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Your number is disclosed only (a) to the independent Service Provider fulfilling your ride, (b) to our operational vendors (such as our SMS gateway and fraud-prevention providers) strictly to deliver the Service, and (c) as required by law.

Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase or of using the Service.

    9. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use essential cookies to ensure the platform functions correctly, including session management, authentication, and security features. These cookies are strictly necessary and cannot be disabled.

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website, measure performance, and identify areas for improvement. These cookies collect anonymised data and can be managed through your browser settings.

    9. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Active account data is retained for the duration of your account. Upon account deletion, we will erase or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial records retained for 7 years under HMRC requirements).

Anonymised and aggregated data that cannot identify you may be retained indefinitely for analytical and statistical purposes.

    10. International Data Transfers

VAMOS operates across multiple international markets. Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the United Kingdom.

Where we transfer personal data outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including UK International Data Transfer Agreements (IDTAs), standard contractual clauses approved by the ICO, or transfers to countries recognised as providing an adequate level of data protection.

    11. Children's Privacy

VAMOS services are not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child without appropriate parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

    12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. We will notify you of material changes via email or through a prominent notice on our platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect.

Your continued use of VAMOS services after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
